Good afternoon everyone, Ann called me today from the DMV and she asked if I would be able to get the news out that our local DMV is hiring. Last time they hired they did not have any local people sign up for it. so, I wonder if you guys can let your people know about these opportunities, one is this Saturday; which is last minute and the other testing is next Saturday. So if you know people who are looking for a job please let them know to go online and do this. FYI, AB60 is where illegal people in California will be able to get a legal Ca. drivers license, so they will be hiring more people then just these two, but they only do these testing once a year so you need to do the testing to get the call when they start to hire people for the hiring spree, per say, they will be doing to cover the amount of people coming in to get the AB60 DL. Thanks for all your help, and hopefully we can get some local people to get these jobs. Great Career. Please send out to everyone. They also want to do some community awareness meeting to make sure the community is aware and those whom might work with or have contact with non documented community members would be able to spread the word and when and how that will all work. I will update you on that as it comes to me.

Jeanette -

Thank you for assisting us in getting the word out to the public about the testing. Attached are the flyers for both positions. We are really, really trying to recruit folks from our local community to take the test as it is only offered once a year here and you must be on the eligibility list (created after the test) in order to be considered for hire. When we interviewed for our last openings, we did not have a single candidate who was local and that was disappointing. With AB 60 anticipated to go into effect January 2015, we will have a need for increased staffing and this is the only way to be considered.

You must apply online for this test and there are only a limited number of spots available. The flyer tells you some of the info and here are the online addresses for the applications.

To apply for the MVR test (the clerks at the windows), the url is https://exams.spb.ca.gov/exams/mvfr/login.cfm

To apply for the LRE test (the driving examiners), the url is http://jobs.ca.gov/JOBSGEN/8PB26.PDF

Please tell anyone you know who might be interested. DMV jobs provide individuals with a good career, benefits and the opportunity for advancement. It is a tough job and not for everyone, but we have a great crew to work with and the job can be quite rewarding. Thank you for your help with this.
